They really capture the spirit and sound of classic artists like Muddy Waters, Louis Jordan, Wilson Pickett and Al Green. We heard fiery vocals and blues harp, Memphis-style horns, soaring guitar solos and solid, punchy rhythms, all of it passionate and fun. The students also got a music history lesson because these musicians understand - and bring to life - the early influences and 20th century lineage of American blues, soul and rock traditions.
